Joseph G. Porter, 66, of Kenilworth, Ill., a former Springdale resident, died Oct. 29 in Miami, Fla., where he had been vacationing.

Graveside services were held Nov. 1 at the Springdale cemetery with the Rev. Charles Haigh officiating.

Mr. Porter was born Oct. 7, 1897, in Cedar county, the son of Harry and Susanna Shinn Porter.

He was a retired banker, having been associated with the LaSalle National bank in Chicago.

Surviving are his wife, Olive; daughter, Mrs. Mark Pendleton of Winnetka, Ill.; son, James of Barrington, Ill.; brother, Leslie of Milwaukee, Wis.; sister, Anna Porter, Poindexter, Ill., and 3 grandchildren.
