February 19, 1892 - The Clarence Sun

Death has invaded another home and created sorrow therein, nor is the wave of sorrow confined to the home, but, as the many expressions of sympathy show the people throughout the community are afflicted thereby. Last Tuesday morning the spirit of Mrs. W. W. Paul returned to Him who gave it and in her death a husband mourns the loss of a loved wife, the children a fond and dear mother and the church and community of which she was a member a kind, sympathetic friend and neighbor. There is one other whose cup of sorrow is extremely hard to bear and that is the mother of the deceased who, in her eighty-fourth year living upon a bed of sickness saw her daughter borne to her final rest, but this sorrow is perhaps somewhat assuaged by the thought that their separation will not be long, and a reunion that will last for all time will be theirs beyond the river. Deceased leaves, beside the husband, three children who have grown to manhood and womanhood under the beneficent influence of a kind mother's love. Three of her brothers were here to attend the last sad rites, which occurred yesterday, the funeral services being held at the house, conducted by Rev. Truesdale, followed by interment here. Mrs. Paul was born in 1834, hence was in her fifty-eighth year. The sympathy of the community is tendered the afflicted ones in their hour of sorrow.
