Funeral services for Peter Allen Grassfield, who once operated a shoe store in Tipton, were held April 28 in Fairhope, Ala. Mrs. Grassfield died April 26 after an illness of 6 weeks.
Grassfield sold his shoe store to Donald Jacobs 37 years ago and moved to Alabama. This is the Tipton Bootery, now operated by W. H. Schneekloth and Walter Graham.
Grassfield was a member of the Order of the Easter Star, 367, Tipton and the Green Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Dyson, Pensacola, Fla.; 2 grandchildren, Mrs. Jake Martin, Pensacola, Fla., and Bromley Dyson, Montgomery, Ala.; 5 great-grandchildren and a niece.
