T. O. Spear, 97, one of the organizers of the Cedar county Fair association died at his home Sunday night, following an illness of several weeks. The decedent was born in Ireland and came to the United States when he was 11 years old. He lived in Philadelphia for two years before coming to Iowa. For 40 years he was associated with W. C. Byrant of Marion in importing and exporting horses. He was an extensive land owner in Tipton and Cedar county. Surviving are one son, F. W. Spear of Tipton, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Tipton M.E. church with Rev. W. E. Von Buren officiating. Burial was in Tipton Masonic cemetery.
