Mrs. Charles Spear of Tipton died Monday evening at the Iowa City hospital aged 55 years. She had been in poor health for more than a year. Zella Elizabeth Jones Spear was born September 12, 1881, in Jones county. She is survived by her husband and her mother, Mrs. Zerbe of Mechanicsville. The funeral was held at the Methodist church in Tipton this afternoon. Burial was in the Olin cemetery. The lady was well known to Eastern Star members in this section and being a close friend of Mrs. H. A. Caldwell was quite well known in Clarence.
