31 December 1936 - The Clarence Sun

Despondent over the death of his wife, Fred Brunscheen, aged 77, till recently living in Clarence, committed suicide by shooting himself in the front yard at the home of his son, Henry, at Wyoming on Christmas day.

Mrs. Brunscheen died late Wednesday night, following a lingering illness.

Mr. Brunscheen arose before other members of the family Friday morning and went into the front yard of the home where he killed himself. His body was discovered by a milkman who was making his daily delivery at the Brunscheen residence.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Brunscheen were natives of Germany and since coming to America have lived in this section. When Mrs. Burnscheen became so ill that she needed care they left their home here and went to Wyoming. Their home, which was in the house the property of H. D. Kemmann in the east part of Clarence, is still furnished as they left it.

The old couple are survived by two sons, Henry and Herman, both of Wyoming, and two daughters, Mrs. August Keitel and Mrs. Gearhard Wenndt both of near Clarence.

Double funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in Wyoming on Sunday and were in charge of Rev. G. J. Zeilinger. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.
