Henry Kleppe, sr., 89, a resident of Cedar county for 48 years, died last week Wednesday at the home six miles north of Wilton. He had been ill with pneumonia for a week. Mr. Kleppe was born in Germany April 18, 1847. In 1877 he married Elizabeth Henrich in Germany and the couple came to Cedar county 48 years ago. She died four years ago. Surviving are five sons, Henry jr., of Tipton, William of Clarence, Chris of Lowden, Harold of Wilton and Fred of Tipton; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Krummel of Mechanicsville and Mrs. William Laucamp of Bennett. Funeral services were held Friday at the Bennett Evangelical church. Burial was in Inland cemetery.
