Graveside rites were held March 20 in Lowden cemetery for Mrs. John (Laura) Smith, 67, of Davenport following services in Bettendorf. Mrs. Smith died Friday, March 15 in Mercy Hospital, Davenport.

The former Laura Deke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Deke, was born March 2, 1896 in Wheatland. The family moved to Lowden where she attended the local schools. She married John W. Smith in Chicago, Ill., in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1956. For the past year she has made her home with her brother in Davenport.

She is survived by a brother, Leo, of Davenport.
