Rites were held March 1 at Durant for Mrs. Elfrieda Dietz, 73, 26-year-resident of Durant, who died Feb. 26 at Tipton after an extended illness.

Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

She was born May 7, 1889, at Davenport, the daughter of Henry and Annie Miller.

She married William Hering in February, 1910, at Davenport and they farmed 3 miles south of Stockton until he died in 1913.

Later she was married to Hugo Dietz. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of Pythian Sisters 178, Durant; Walcott R.N.A., and Northwest Turners of Davenport.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Vernann) Baxter, Cedar Rapids; 3 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Kruse, Sunbury, and 2 brothers, Frank Miller, Durant, and Willie Miller, Davenport.

Preceding her in death were 3 brothers.
