Chester B. Ellyson, 74, St. Paul, Minn., a native of Springdale died in a hospital in Phoenix, Ariz., Feb. 15, where he and his wife were spending the winter. He had been in failing health.

Funeral services were Feb. 18 at West Liberty with the Rev. Dale Williams, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Oakridge cemetery.

Mr. Ellyson was born on a farm near Springdale May 8, 1888, the son of William B. and Esther Negus Ellyson. He graduated from Springdale high school in 1905 and attended the University of Iowa.

For 50 years he had lived in St. Paul. He was owner and organizer of C. B . Ellyson Co., an incinerator distributing firm. He retired Jan. 1, 1962.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge in St. Paul, the Consistory and the Osman Temple Shrine.

He married Ruby Lewis, who survives. Other survivors include a brother, Oakley of St. Paul. A sister preceded Mr. Ellyson in death.
