April 11, 1890 - The Clarence Sun

DIED-NICOLL--In Clarence, April 5th, 1890, Mrs. Margaret Nicoll, aged 88 years.

In soliciting the facts as to Mrs. Nicoll's life and death we learned some facts relative to the longevity of the family that are of interest. The father and mother lived to the same age as the deceased and she was one of a family of nine, five of whom are yet living, the youngest 73 years of age and none of those who have gone dying until past their seventieth birthday. Mrs. Nicoll raised a family of ten children, the youngest being over 40 years of age, and all living. Her brothers and sisters were all married and raised families and she lived to see her children all married and the fathers and mothers of families. Her parents, brothers and sisters, and children were all members of some branch of the Presbyterian church, she being a consistent member of the United Presbyterian church nearly all her life, and was one of those Christians who, in their daily walk, show the glorious teachings of their profession. Her remains were taken to Andes, New York, for burial beside her husband, who died twenty years ago at 73 years of age.
