Funeral services for Clyde Warren Hankins of Cedar Rapids whose parents farmed near Tipton for many years, were held Jan. 31. Mr. Hankins died Jan. 28 at Cedar Rapids after a long illness.

His parents, Richard and Nan Hankins lived for many years on the farm across from the Tipton Golf and Country club and on a farm near the Masonic cemetery. They also lived on the west edge of Tipton.

Mr. Hankins was born Sept. 23, 1882 in Wapello county, near Muscatine and was married to Cora Mae Johnson in Buchanan county Sept. 30, 1905. He retired as a locomotive engineer in 1949 after 40 years of service.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are 2 sons, Russell W. and Clifford W. Hankins; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Gard, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A daughter, Helen Marie, preceded him in death.
