Requiem high mass was sung Jan. 30 at St. Mary's Catholic church, Mechanicsville, for Mrs. Harry Shrope, 64, who collapsed and died Jan. 26 while visiting her father, a patient at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids.

The Rev. P. J. Casey officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Donald Puffer, Merven Trump, Donald Overbaugh, Robert Kramer, Forest Shrope and Purl Pearson. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Rose Margaret Burwinkle, daughter of George and Mary Burwinkle was born Nov. 28, 1898 at Fort Madison. She attended a parochial school at Fort Madison, and was married June 30, 1937 to Harry Shrope at St. Patrick's church, Cedar Rapids.

Mrs. Shrope was a member of St. Mary's parish, Mechanicsville; and St. Mary's Guild. She lived on her farm south of Mechanicsville.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Mrs. Leroy (Leona) Spratte, Rochester, Minn., and Mrs. John (Harriet) Gorup, Baldwin Park, Calif., and a brother, Vincent Burwinkle, Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Shrope, and her mother, Mrs. George Burwinkle
