Mrs. Emery C. Holmes, 75, a former resident of Cedar county, died Jan. 13 at her home in St. Petersburg, Fla. Mrs. Holmes is the former Birdie J. Clute, who lived in the Clarence-Lowden area.

Mr. and Mrs. Holmes moved to St. Petersburg from Delmar 11 years ago. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. M. M. (Lulu) Filloon, Central City and Mrs. Arthur W. (Nellie) Holmes, St. Petersburg, a brother William Clute, Savannah, Ill. and a nephew, Robert C. Ballou, Glenwood, Calif.

Funeral services were conducted Jan. 15 at St. Petersburg by the Rev. Dr. Denver C. Pickens and the Astron Chapter, No. 256 O.E.S. Interment was in Memorial Park cemetery at St. Petersburg.
