Alfred Pedersen, 69, retired West Branch farmer, suffered a heart attack and died Oct. 25 while attending a sale at the Mechanicsville sale barn.

He was born east of West Branch Dec. 31, 1891, the son of Anton and Elsie Marie Pedersen. He married Gina Anderson April 16, 1913. He farmed all of his life in the West Branch area, retiring in 1949.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran church at West Branch.

Survivors include the widow; 4 sons, Gene, Cleo, Glenn and Duane, all of the West Branch area; a sister, Mrs. Lissa Sondergard of West Branch; a brother, Anders Pedersen of West Branch; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at Bethany Lutheran church with the Rev. William Thallacker officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.
