Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moore were held at Montezuma Oct. 12, with burial in the Masonic I.O.O.F. cemetery in Montezuma. The Rev. George S. Snyder of the Montezuma Methodist church was in charge, assisted by the Rev. G. R. Dieken of the Montezuma Presbyterian church.

Mrs. Moore, 47, died at Grinnell Oct. 9 and her husband died at Montezuma Oct. 10. Mrs. Moore is a native of Cedar county.

Laurel, daughter of Margaret and Oliver Johnson, was born on a farm 7 1/2 miles west of Tipton. She attended the Tipton schools, graduating from Tipton Junior college and taught for 2 years at the Coon Creek school. She then enrolled in nurses' training at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1939. After graduation, she continued working in the University Eye clinic.

She was married to Harold Moore Feb. 22, 1941 and they established their home on a farm south of Montezuma.

She was united in her youth with the Tipton Methodist church and was active in the Eastern Star, P.E.O., American Legion Auxiliary, the Literary club, The Untied Presbyterian Women and Guild.

Mrs. Moore is survived by 2 brothers, George Johnson, Lisbon and Alex Johnson, Gibson, a sister, Mrs. Esther Nephew, Tipton, an uncle, Carl Sailor, Lisbon an aunt Mrs. Edith Sailor, Burlington; 2 nieces, a nephew and several cousins.

Mr. Moore, the son of Almedia and George Moore, was born in Poweshiek county Dec. 14, 1890. He served in the army during World War I, including a year and a half in France and was a farmer until failing eyesight forced him to retire. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the American Legion.
