George C. Tank, 66, Durant, died Oct. 4 at Davenport Osteopathic hospital following a lingering illness.

Born Sept. 3, 1895, in Cedar county, he was the son of Chris and Josephine Weber Tank. He married Hannah Griebel at Davenport April 12, 1917. The couple farmed in Cedar and Scott counties until retiring in 1948 and moving to Durant. He was a member of the Lutheran church.

Survivors include the widow, 2 sons, Harlan, Wilton Junction and Wayne, Durant; 2 sisters, Mrs. Adolph (Dora) Hagge, Durant and Mrs. William (Minnie) Hagge, Sunbury; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Funeral services were held Oct. 7 at Durant. Burial was at the Durant cemetery.
