Chris Henry Kleppe, 77, Clarence, died suddenly Sept. 10, 1961.

Mr. Kleppe was born in Germany Oct. 14, 1883, and was married to Alvena Becker in Lowden Jan. 23, 1907.

Funeral services were held Sept. 12, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence, with the Rev. Edwin Otte, Lowden, officiating. Burial was in the Lowden cemetery. Mr. Kleppe was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden.

Pallbearers were Rudolph Krummel, Lawrence Kleppe, Walter Helmold, Ralph Krummel, Edward Kleppe and Ralph Becker. Mrs. Richard Hein and Karen Kleppe were in charge of flowers. The ladies quartet from the Lowden Zion United Church of Christ sang, accompanied by Mrs. Lane Strackbein, Lowden.

He is survived by 2 sons, Sylvan and Hubert, Bennett and one daughter, Mrs. Leora Pruess, Clarence; 2 brothers, William, Clarence and Fred, Tipton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Henry Krummel and Mrs. William Laucamp, Bennett, and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
