Funeral services for Julius Henry Popp, 88, Bennett, were held May 8 at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home with the Rev. Omar Pettersen in charge. Clarence Miller and Ernest Riedesel Jr. were vocalists and Mrs. Ernest Riedesel Jr. was organist.

Pallbearers were 6 nephews, Harry Lilienthal, Edwin Lilienthal, Orville Hein, Herbert Ott, Harry Kai and Arthur Henricksen. Burial was in Inland cemetery, near Bennett.

Mr. Popp died May 5 at his home in Bennett after an illness of 2 weeks.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Popp, he was born near Sunbury Jan. 15, 1873 and spent most of his life as a farmer in the Bennett community. He retired and moved to Bennett in 1937.

He was married to Annie Lilienthal in Davenport Feb. 19, 1897. Mrs. Popp died Jan. 5, 1956.

He is survived by 6 children, Edward, Wilton Junction; Mabel Groth, Bennett; Arnold, Winner, S.D.; Gilbert, Atalissa; Mrs. Ferd (Norma) Goettsch, Bennett and Walter, Bennett; 2 grandchildren, Wallace Groth, Davenport and Maurice Popp, Rockwell City and 3 great-grandchildren.
