Hugo C. Fitzer, 62, Durant, died at 4:05 a.m. April 1 at the Wilton nursing home.

Mr. Fitzer was born May 11, 1898, in Cedar county, the son of Christian and Dorothea Fitzer.

He was married Feb. 7, 1923, at Davenport, to Mary Lage. They had farmed since their marriage at a place 2 miles north of Durant.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Herchal, Durant; one brother, Albert Fitzer, Luverne, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Celia Kopp also of Luverne; and 4 grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 4 at Gloria Dei Lutheran church in Durant. Interment will be at the Durant cemetery.
