Mrs. Irene Lucille Thompson, 65, died Feb. 24 at a hospital in Charlottseville, Va., after a brief illness. She was visiting a son in Charlottseville when stricken.

Mrs. Thompson was born Dec. 6, 1895, near Downey, the daughter of Thomas and Lottie Mackey Gorman. She was married Nov. 26, 1918, at West Branch to Charles Thompson. He died in 1954.

She was a member of the West Branch Methodist church, the Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Thompson, West Branch, and a son, Maj. Charles M. Thompson, Charlottseville, Va. Three grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were Feb. 27 at the West Branch Methodist church, with the Rev. Charles Haigh officiating. Burial, with graveside services by the Eastern Star, was in West Branch cemetery.
