Byerl J. Grings, 68, Davenport, owner of the Durant and Wilton Junction locker plants, died Feb. 10 at Mercy hospital in Davenport, after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Feb. 13 at Wilton Junction. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery.

Mr. Grings, the son of Joseph and Laura Olds Grings, was born Feb. 27, 1892, in Cedar county. He formerly lived in Wilton Junction and Durant. He married Oral Tuttle at Muscatine.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Wilton Junction lodge 167, A.F. and A.M., Zarepath consistory, Davenport, and Kaaba Shrine, Davenport.

Surviving are his wife; 3 sons, Thomas J., Moscow; Harry R., Muscatine, and Byerl L., Davenport; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Maxine) Taylor, 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His parents and a brother are dead.
