Charles Regennitter, 95, oldest resident of Bennett, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hilda Giebelstein, Dec. 29. Funeral services were held at the Bennett Funeral home Dec. 31 with the Rev. Edwin Otte officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Mr. Regennitter had been in failing health for about 5 years, but did not become seriously ill until 2 days before his death.

The son of Bernhardt and Dora Schmidt Regennitter, he was born in Davenport March 15, 1865. He spent nearly all of his life in the Bennett area as a farmer.

He was married to Wilhelmina Meewes Feb. 22, 1893. She died Oct. 4, 1930.

He served as a member of the Bennett town council.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Hilda Giebelstein, 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 3 sisters, a brother and 2 grandsons.

Pallbearers were Richard Conrad, Charles Sherman, Henry Fullriede, Fred Dresselhaus, Gus Scheper and Martin Juchter. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Regennitter were in charge of flowers.
