Funeral services for Taylor Guthrie, 83, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Friends church at West Branch where he served as pastor for more than 21 years.

Mr. Guthrie retired West Branch minister, died early Dec. 27 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City following a coronary attack Dec. 24. He and his wife served as co-ministers at the West Branch church from 1936 to 1957 when he retired after 52 years in the Friends ministry.

In 1957 he was named "Man of the Year" at West Branch by the Commercial club there.

Mr. Guthrie was born Dec. 26, 1877, in Dallas county, the son of Manuel and Josephine Roop Guthrie. He was married to Irma Tabor, Dec. 15, 1908, in Dorchester, Wis.

Survivors include his widow; 7 sons, Victor, Elmhurst, Ill.; Harold, Winona, Minn.; Stephen, Glen Mills, Pa.; Willis, Waukesha, Wis.; Wayne, Missoula, Mont.; David, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and Dean, Evanston, Ill.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Ruth Rhodes, Des Moines, and Mrs. Doris Hinkhouse, West Branch; 2 sisters, Mrs. Charles Baker, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Alta Powell, Oskaloosa, and 24 grandchildren.
