Funeral services of James H. Heald, former steward of the Cedar county home, were held Dec. 20 at Rapid City, S.D. Burial was in Rapid City.

Mr. Heald died at Rapid City Dec. 15, following a stroke Nov. 26.

He was born in Ohio, coming to West Branch with his parents, Lewis and Mary Heald, when he was 18 months old. He married Ada Whitacre Nov. 30, 1906. They celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary 4 years ago.

At one time Mr. and Mrs. Heald were steward and stewardess of the Cedar county home. They lived in the Mt. Zion and Tipton communities for many years, moving to South Dakota in 1921 where he was an engineer at the Fairmont creamery. He was a member of the Methodist church and active in church affairs.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, Cecil, Rapid City and Howard Galveston Tex.; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 3 brothers, Irwin, West Branch; Harry, Lincoln, Neb., and Charles, Austin, Minn.
