15 December 1960 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Fred H. Schroeder, 52, were held Dec. 14 in Tipton with the Rev. Omar Pettersen in charge. Mrs. Phyllis Willer was vocalist. Organist was Mrs. C. P. Christianson. Casketbearers were William Bell, Oscar Nebergall, Lloyd Nebergall, Robert McCroskey, Norman Ford and Donald Johnson. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. The Dye Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Schroeder died at Veterans hospital in Iowa City Dec. 11, after an extended illness.

The son of Christian Henry Schroeder and Agnes Gundeland Schroeder, he was born July 24, 1908, near Tipton. He was a resident of Cedar county all his life and had been a construction worker for 25 years. He was active in South Bethel community projects.

He served in the army as a military policeman from November, 1942 to November, 1945.

He is survived by his mother, 3 sisters, Mrs. Martha McGinnis and Mrs. Nora Rochholz, Davenport and Mrs. Dolores Connaughy, Rock Island, Ill., and 2 nieces and 5 nephews. His father preceded him in death.
