Funeral services for Arnold L. Meier, 64, retired Cedar county A.S.C. office manager, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sheets and Dahn Funeral home. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery at Clarence.

Mr. Meier died early Dec. 13 at Mercy hospital where he had been a patient for 6 weeks. He had been in ill health for several months and retired from the A.S.C. office in October.

Meier, who lived in Tipton, and owned a farm in Fairfield township, had been with the conservation program since its beginning in 1934. He first served as a township committeeman and alternate county committeeman until 1941 when he became a county committeeman. He became office manager in 1943.

He was one of the founders of the First National bank and served as director and vice-president.

He is survived by his wife, Katie, 3 daughters, Mrs. Frank (Evelyn) Fisher Jr., Stanwood; Mrs. Morris (Bernita) Walker, and Mrs. LaVern (Marcella) Soper, both of Clarence; 6 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Otto (Emma) Pruess, Mechanicsville.
