Funeral services for Gustav August Hinrichs, 59, a lifelong resident of Bennett, will be held at 1:30 today (Thursday) at Peace United Church of Christ in Bennett. The Rev. Edwin Otte will be in charge, with burial in Inland cemetery at Bennett.

Hinrichs died Dec. 5 at University hospital in Iowa City after a lingering illness.

He was born near Bennett Dec. 16, 1900, and spent his entire life in this area. He was employed by Cedar county as a maintenance man for 8 years. He was a township assessor for 11 years. He was also marshal of Bennett for 8 years.

He was married to Amanda Stuehm at Bennett Sept. 18, 1924.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, Elmer Stuhr, Donald Hinrichs, Wallace Ford, Dean Minteer, Warren Rixe and Dwain Wilkening.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Norman, Bennett; a brother, Rudolph, Bennett and 2 sisters, Mrs. Ernest Von Roden, Lowden and Mrs. Esther Wigger, Phoenix, Ariz.
