Funeral services for Henry F. Daehn, 78, were held Oct. 23 in Zion Evangelical and Reformed church in Lowden, with the Rev. Edwin Otte officiating. Burial was in the Lowden cemetery.

Mr. Daehn died in Tipton Oct. 20 following a stroke.

Pallbearers were Arthur Ibsen, Lawrence Dreyer, Dwight Dean, Ralph Brendes, Alan and Marvin Conrad. Mrs. Walter Helmold, Mrs. Elmer Hack, Mrs. Lorenz Deerberg and Mrs. Vernon Bright sang, accompanied by Mrs. Charles Strackbein.

The son of Carl and Sophie Weigmann Daehn, he was born Aug. 3, 1882, in Germany. He came to the United States with his parents when a small boy and received his education in the rural schools.

He was married in 1908 to Amelia (Molly) Schaefer. They first lived in Lowden, where he was a carpenter. Later they moved to a farm where they lived until they retired and moved into Lowden several years ago.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Elmer, Cedar Rapids; 2 daughters, Mrs. John (Mildred) McDonald, Olin and Mrs. Erwin (Alice) Gottschalk, Windom, Minn., 2 sisters, Mrs. Julius Conrad and Mrs. Otto Brendes, Lowden and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
