Leonard Warner, 60, a native of Cedar county, died Oct. 10 in Mercy hospital at Davenport after an illness of 3 weeks. He was a retired captain in the Davenport Fire Department.

Born near Durant, he was married to Helen Henricksen in Davenport in April, 1923. He served with the Davenport fire department, retiring in 1956 as chief mechanic. He had been with the Belle Blind company for 3 years.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Ed (Marcella) Garrity, Waukegan, Ill.; a son, Leonard C., Davenport; 6 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Roger Nolan, and Mrs. Hugo Ralfs, both of Davenport; and a brother, George, East Moline. A sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Davenport. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.
