Flora E. Simonds, 94, a retired Cedar county school teacher, died Sept. 13 at a Tipton nursing home after an extended illness.

She had been a rural school teacher most of her adult life.

Miss Simonds was born Aug. 21, 1866, near West Branch, the daughter of William and Anna Simonds.

She was a member of the Friends church at West Branch.

Survivors include two nephews and a niece.

Funeral services were Sept. 15 at the Friends church in West Branch, with burial in the West Branch cemetery.
