Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Sheets & Dahn funeral home for Harry Jay Raymond, 68. The Rev. A. C. Long was in charge, with burial in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
Raymond died suddenly Saturday.
The son of Albert and Lucy Raymond, he was born Dec. 22, 1889, in Greene, Ohio where he was raised and attended school. At 24 he came to Cedar county where he farmed, worked as a blacksmith and in construction work.
He was married to Alma V. Slentz at Warren, Ohio, March 24, 1914. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Flowery (Eileen) Smith, Tipton, and Mrs. Lester (Ruth) Rix, Olin, and a son, Earl, Davenport; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara Mahlbaugh, Brookfield, Ohio, and a twin brother, Harry Ray, Davenport.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
