Hans C. Kofoed, 70, died at his home in West Branch Friday morning, Aug. 17. Funeral services were held Monday at the Bethany Lutheran church with the Rev. F. H. Kehren of Monticello officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mr. Kofoed was born Jan. 3, 1886, at Aaker, Bornholm, Denmark, and came to the United States in 1906. He was married to Laura Therkildsen Aug. 17, 1922. They moved to West Branch in 1942 and he was engaged in the creamery business until retiring in 1953. He was a member of the Lutheran church and the Masonic lodge.

Surviving are the wife and three children, Owen, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Ruth Friedhoff, Charleston, Ill., and John, West Branch, four grandchildren; one brother, John, Las Vegas, Nev., and a sister, Mathia Jensen, Bornholm, Denmark.
