Mrs. Lena Blunt, 81, a resident of the West Branch area for many years, died at the home of her daughter in Muscatine July 11.

Mrs. Blunt was born in Bellevue Nov. 27, 1874, a daughter of William and Louise Janecke Efferding. She was married to George K. Blunt at Maquoketa Sept. 8, 1892.

The couple established their home in West Branch in 1914. Since 1952 she had lived with her daughter in Muscatine.

A member of the West Branch Methodist church, she was also affiliated with the W.S.C.S.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Albert J. Mienke, Muscatine; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Also surviving are three brothers, George, Bellevue, Louis, Maquoketa, and Charles, Coffeyville, Kans., and five sisters, Mrs. Anna Ritter, Mrs. Julia Sutton and Mrs. Nellie Purvis, all of Edmond, Okla.; Mrs. Delia Martin, White Lake, S.D. and Mrs. Mary Michels, Bellevue.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1932, and one grandson.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Methodist church in West Branch, with the Rev. H. D. Green, Marion officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.
