Alfred M. Von Roden, 63, formerly of Lowden, died Sunday, June 10 in a nursing home in Hialeah, Fla., where he had been a patient for two and one-half years.

Mr. Von Roden was born May 28, 1893, south of Lowden, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Von Roden. He received his education in the rural schools and was a veteran of World War I. He had lived in California for 20 years, where he was a mason. For the past five years he has lived in Florida.

Survivors are five sisters, Mrs. George (Frieda) Twachtmann, Lowden; Mrs. Fred (Anna) Jess, Mrs. Herman (Martha) Sweitzer, both of Davenport; Mrs. Hugo (Elizabeth) Wilkening, Bennett, and Mrs. Margaret Anderson, Glendale, Calif.; two brothers, Fred Von Roden, Blue Grass and Ernest Von Roden, Lowden.

Private funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Van Horn cemetery south of Lowden. The Rev. N. S. Roberts officiated.
