Funeral services for Mrs. Caroline Lorenzen, 89, were held in the Springdale Methodist church Saturday. The Rev. LeRoy E. Bauman was in charge, assisted by the Rev. Harlow T. Doliver of West Liberty. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery at Tipton.

Mrs. Lorenzen died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Eves, in West Liberty at 9:15 p.m. Thursday. She had made her home with her daughter for the past seven years, after spending most of her life in Cedar county.

Mrs. Lorenzen was born in Germany Nov. 15, 1866, the daughter of Henry and Johanna Marquart Schilling. She was married to Herman C. Lorenzen Nov. 3, 1892, at Wilton Junction.

She was a member of the Springdale Methodist church, the Women's Christian Temperance union and was a charter member of the Woman's Society for Christian service of Springdale.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Eves, Mrs. H. I. Eves, Tipton, and Mrs. Forest Davis, West Liberty; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles and William Shilling, Clarence, and Edward Shilling, Tipton, and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Kelly, Muscatine, and Mrs. Hannah Dickison, West Liberty. Her husband, two sons, a brother and a sister died previously.
