Chris Hauschild, Wilton Resident, Dies at Hospital

Wilton – Chris Hauschild, 74, of Wilton, a resident of this community for many years, died at 9 p.m. Monday in Mercy hospital, Davenport, where he had been a patient for two months.

He was born in Germany, Aug 24, 1865, and came to the United States and to Wilton community when a boy. His wife, the former Minnie Turner, preceded him in death in 1939.

Surviving are three sons, Floyd, of Davenport; Albert of Joilet, Ill,; and Lyle, of Tipton, Ia; three daughters, Mrs. Goldie Ellis and Mrs. Raymond Wantland, of Davenport and Mrs. Edith Tray, of Orlando., Fla.; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, John of Tipton and Henry, of Mendota, Minn. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

The body was removed to the Griffith Funeral Home, and funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Wilton Methodist church, with the Rev. W. A. Longnecker, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Sharon cemetery.
