Henry Michaeel Loercher, 73, died suddenly at his farm home five miles northeast of West Branch at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 16.
Born at Shawnee, Kan., June 23, 1884, he was a son of Michael and Christina Rentchler Loercher. He was married Jan. 13, 1915, to the former Helen E. Moore in West Branch. The couple's home since has been in the West Branch area.
Their only child, a son, Orville H. Loercher, was killed during World War II.
Survivors are his widow as well as nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson funeral home with the Rev. A. C. Proehl, pastor of Zion Lutheran church, Iowa City, officiating. Burial will be in West Branch cemetery.
