Mrs. Anna Lage, 74, longtime resident of the Durant community, died Tuesday at St. Luke's hospital, Davenport, following a brief illness.

Funeral services are planned at 2 p.m. Friday at the Durant chapel. Burial will be at the Durant cemetery.

Mrs. Lage was born Jan. 22, 1883, in Schleswig, Germany. She came to the United States and the Durant community in 1899. She was married to Julius Lage on Feb. 14, 1902, at Davenport. They engaged in farming five miles northwest of Durant until retiring and moving into Durant in 1940.

Surviving are her husband; three sons, Arnold Lage, Wilton Junction; Reinhardt Lage, New Liberty; and Harry Lage, Davenport; five daughters, Mrs. Leroy Klahn, Wilton Junction; Mrs. Sam Baker, Noel, Mo.; Mrs. Martha Westfall, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Gilbert Mordhorst, Durant, and Mrs. Elmer Arp, Corpus Christi, Tex.; one brother, Theodore Buck, Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Mrs. John Sindt, Durant; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were one son, three sisters and two brothers.
