Funeral services for Clarence F. Toms, 75, were held Monday afternoon at the Sheets and Dahn Funeral home, Tipton, with burial in Inland cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Wolcott, Clinton, was in charge of services.

Clarence F. Toms was born at Harper, Kans., April 29, 1881 and died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Friday, March 1, at 7:33 p.m. following a lingering illness.

He came to Bennett from Kansas with his parents at the age of 11.

He was married to Hilda Kiesbuy in the Methodist parsonage, Bennett, Sept. 1, 1903. He was a mail carrier, ran a restaurant, a livery stable and farmed in the Bennett area until 11 years ago when they moved into their present home in Bennett.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Regennitter, Bennett; two grandsons, Norman Regennitter, Bennett and Jerry Regennitter, Muscatine, six great grandsons and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Skaggs, Tulsa, Okla.

Pallbearers were Rollin Borchers, P. J. Thies, John Bell, Kenneth Horstmann, Tom Johnson and Elmer McQuillen.

The family asks that any memorial be given to the Cancer fund.
