Funeral services for George G. Agne, 78, were held Monday with the Rev. A. C. Long in charge. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery. Mr. Agne died July 17 after an extended illness.
George Geller Agne, second son of Henry and Anna Geller Agne, was born on the Penningroth farm west of Wald Feb. 22, 1881. He received his education in the Tipton schools and at Capital City Commercial college in Des Moines.
He was married to Edna Cashman in Chicago, Ill., Feb. 25, 1909. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in February.
Mr. Agne was a farmer in this area until he retired and moved to Tipton in 1941. He constructed farm buildings from native lumber on several Cedar county farms.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Milo, Stanwood; a sister, Mrs. Mayme Hokenson, and a brother, Bert, Tipton. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
