Funeral services for Thomas W. Allen, 82, were held Saturday with the Rev. Arthur Stratemeyer in charge. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery, with graveside ritual by the Odd Fellows lodge.

Casketbearers were Albert Shaffer, Harold Weaver, Ernest Ocheltree, Lloyd and Laverne Wood, and Clarence Conley. Assisting with flowers were Mrs. Louis Maisack and Mrs. Ralph Ehresman. Laura Geller was organist.

Mr. Allen died July 16. He suffered a stroke at his home a week before.

Thomas Wilson Allen, the son of John H. and Mary Allen, was born in Millersburg, Ill., Aug. 23, 1876. He was married to Dessa Pauley May 11, 1898, in Aldeo, Ill.

He had lived in Tipton community for 57 years. He was a carpenter.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Bessie Thomas, Atalissa, and Mrs. Dorothy Techau, Stanwood, and a brother, Amos, Joy, Ill., 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and 2 daughters, Frances and Mrs. Irva Knott.
