9 July 1959 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Frederick Simmermaker, 79, were held July 2 with the Rev. Howard Dukelow in charge. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery.

Casket bearers were Elmer Kautz, Walter Lieb, Verne Argo, Hugo Thoeming, Bill Dinse, and Ed Nebergall. Mrs. Earl Escher was organist and Mrs. Frank Ball in charge of flowers.

Mr. Simmermaker took his own life at his home in Tipton about 7:30 a.m. June 30. He had been in ill health for some time.

The son of George and Nancy Matthews Simmermaker, he was born south of Tipton on the family homestead April 22, 1880, where he lived as a young man.

He was married to Loretta Parks Dec. 14, 1927, after which they lived in California and on a farm south of Tipton before retiring and moving to Tipton in 1934.

He is survived by his wife; 2 nephews, Kenneth and Robert Simmermaker, Tipton; 2 nieces, Mrs. Ruby Morris and Mrs. Dorothy Conrad of California; 3 great-nephews, and 2 great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charles, Will and Forrest.
