Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Schlueter, Bennett, 89, were held Wednesday afternoon, June 24, at 2 p.m. at Peace United Church of Christ, Bennett, with the Rev. Alvin Volle officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons, Leroy Kemmann, Harlan Meyer, Dwaine Meyer, Richard Meyer, Ronald Schlueter and Gary Schlueter. Mrs. Art Bachus and Carrie Wagner were in charge of flowers. Burial was in Inland cemetery.
Mrs. Schlueter passed away Sunday at 1 p.m. at her home in Bennett after a 5-day illness.
She was born at Lowden Feb. 14, 1870, the daughter of William and Louise Clasing. She was married to Fred Schlueter at Lowden April 8, 1891, and the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Her husband passed away in 1945. The couple lived on a farm northwest of Bennett until retiring and moving to the present home in Bennett.
The deceased was a charter member of Peace church and the Women's Guild. Survivors include 4 daughters, Mrs. Anna Kemmann, Clarence, Mrs. Ida Von Roden, Bennett, Mrs. Minnie Ruser, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Meta Meyer, Clarence, and one son, Herman, Bennett; one sister; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Fred Jr., and two brothers.
