Bert Tracht of Bennett died Wednesday morning at Mercy hospital in Davenport. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bennett Methodist church.

Funeral services for Alvah Berton (Bert) Tracht, 85, were held Friday afternoon, June 5, at the Bennett Methodist church with the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. Burial was in the Rochester cemetery.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Robert, Richard, Phillip, Rhea and Roland Hambright and Tommy Reynolds. Mrs. Donna Yerington, Davenport, sang.

Mr. Tracht died at Mercy hospital in Davenport June 3 following a short illness.

He was born in Pottawattamie county, Jan. 22, 1874, the son of Romeo and Sarah Simmermaker Tracht. He was married to Laura Bailey March 16, 1899. He farmed until 1928 when he moved to Milwaukee, Wis., where he engaged in landscape gardening until 6 years ago when he retired. He spent most of his recent years in Bennett with his daughter, Mrs. Paul Hambright.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister and 5 brothers. He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Paul (Edith) Hambright, Bennett and Mrs. Lucille Reynolds and one son, Robert Tracht, both of Milwaukee, Wis. Also 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and one brother, Omer, Fairfield.
