Funeral services for Harve T. Nebergall, 47, were held at South Bethel church Sunday, with the Rev. Lloyd E. Brockmeyer in charge. Burial was in the South Bethel cemetery.
Casket bearers were Donald Johnston, Herbert Whitmer, Ray Schwitzer, Leonard Schwitzer, Robert Kretschmar, and LeRoy Shaull.
Honorary pallbearer were Glen Mosher, Tipton; Don C. Fuller, Atkinson, Ill; Ed Huner, Battle Creek, Mich.; Merle Fellows, Nevada, Mo.; Klayton Wilson, Clinton, Mo.; Homer Thompson, Nevada, Mo.; Ross Langworthy and Norman Hansen, Des Moines.
Vocalists were Mrs. Dwain Ford and Mrs. Lloyd Brockmeyer. The pianist was Blanche Kiser and Steven Chambliss was organist.
Hilbert Whitmer and Morris Martin were ushers. Mrs. Donald Johnston, Mrs. LeRoy Shaull, Mrs. Dwain Drager, Mrs. Ray Schwitzer, Mrs. Robert Kretschmar, Mrs. Morris Martin, and Mrs. Hilbert Whitmer were in charge of flowers.
Mr. Nebergall died at Mercy hospital in Iowa City April 30 after an illness of several months.
Harve Thomas Nebergall, second son of F. E. and Ethel Nebergall, was born Feb. 14, 1912, in the South Bethel community. He attended rural school and was graduated from Tipton high school in 1931.
A veteran of World War II, he entered service Feb. 5, 1943, and served in Europe for more than 9 months, winning the combat infantry badge and 3 battle stars.
He was a lifelong farmer in the South Bethel community.
He was married to Thelma Decious of Martelle at Mt. Vernon Aug. 4, 1945, by the Rev. Charles Lustad.
Mr. Nebergall is survived by his wife; 2 sons, Kevin and Kim; his parents; 3 brothers, Clare, Jay, and Max, all of Tipton, and 3 sisters, Mrs. Irvin (Frances) Langley; Mrs. Robert (Jeane) Forrey, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Jack (June) Reeve, Wilton Junction.
