Mrs. Addie Christie, 82, a life-long resident of the West Branch area, died Sept. 23 at University hospital, Iowa City, following a long illness.
Born April 8, 1877, near Newport, she was a daughter of James and Anna McCullough. She was married February 26, 1898, to Frank Christie in Iowa City.
Mrs. Christie was a member of the West Branch Methodist church, the Birthday club and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, 4 daughters, Mrs. Frank Huff, Iowa City; Mrs. Myrtle Edwards, Oxford; Mrs. Merle Holland, West Branch, and Mrs. Arlene Diltz, of Eureka, Calif., and 2 sons, Floyd, of West Branch, and John, of Iowa City.
Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Bessie Edwards, of Cedar Rapids, 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday at West Branch with the Rev. L. E. Bauman, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.
