Funeral services for John Henry Witmer, 82, life-long resident of this community, were held Aug. 27 at Wilton Junction. The Rev. Robert Farr officiated.

Mr. Witmer, a farmer, died at his home north of Moscow Aug. 25.

The son of Jacob and Rebecca Pfeifer Witmer, he was born Dec. 7, 1876, in Cedar county. He married Mary Kuehl Jan. 15, 1931, at Muscatine. He was a member of the Moscow Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife and a son, John, Jr.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and J. Albert Witmer, and by a sister, Adeline.
