Mrs. Blanche Hayslett, 76, a long-time resident of West Branch, died Aug. 13 at a nursing home in Lone Tree after an extended illness.

Mrs. Hayslett was born June 22, 1883, in Rockbridge county, Virginia, the daughter of George and Sarah Clark Swisher. She was married to Grant Hayslett Feb. 11, 1904.

She was a member of the West Branch Methodist church and the Ladies Aid society.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Sayles, West Branch; 2 sons, Ernest, Washington, and Gene, Cedar Rapids; 6 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Cumminger, Roanoke, Va., and Mrs. Barbara Tomlinson, Exeter, Calif. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Services were held Aug. 15 in West Branch with the Rev. and Mrs. Taylor Guthrie officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.
