Mrs. Dan Arnold, 79, of West Branch, died early Friday morning at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the First Methodist church at West Branch, conducted by the Rev. Russell Hunter of Iowa City, and the Rev. Leroy Bauman of West Branch, with burial in the West Branch cemetery.
Jessie Mae Arnold, daughter of Benjamin and Matilda Morrow, was born at Telford, Tenn., Jan. 11, 1880. She was married at Telford to Dan Arnold, March 16, 1904. They lived in the West Branch community for 49 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her husband; 5 daughters, Mrs. Mary Lodge, West Branch; Pearl Arnold, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Irvin (Helen) Lehman, West Branch; Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Siegel, Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Ed (Edith) Holets, Cedar Rapids; 2 brothers, Claude Morrow, Telford, Tenn., and Ben Morrow in Idaho; 2 sisters, Mrs. Hugh Carson, Limestone, Tenn., and Mrs. John Berry, Columbus Junction; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
